To find the right size necklace for you we highly recommend measuring your neck as neck size will affect where your necklace sits. The same chain can sit as a choker on one person and drape past the collarbone on another. So to make sure you can get the perfect necklace we offer a range of sizes to layer, to style, and to work with different bodies. 

The easiest way: measure something you already have

If you own a necklace or chain you already like the length of, that's your best reference. Lay it flat and measure it end to end and compare that to the sizes below. No necklace to hand? A piece of string works just as well: wrap it loosely where you'd want the chain to sit, mark where it meets, then measure the string flat against a ruler.

Layering more than one length

Because every House of Rey chain, lock, and pendant is built to combine, most people end up owning more than one length rather than picking a single "correct" one. A shorter chain worn close, with a longer one layered underneath, is the easiest way to build a stack that doesn't look accidental. If you're building your first stack, starting one length apart (say, 38cm and 45cm, or 45cm and 50cm) usually reads better than two of the same length.

Please note: Our necklaces are hand cut, so lengths can vary slightly from the exact measurement listed, usually no more than a few millimetres. It won't be noticeable on the neck, but it's why we'd rather tell you upfront than have it be a surprise.
